Personal Chef Services
What makes a Personal Chef different from a Private Chef?
Only one individual and/or family employs a Private Chef full-time, who often “lives in”, and prepares up to 3 meals a day for his/hers client(s). A Personal Chef usually serves more than one client, typically one client per day, and supplies multiple meals that are all custom-made as per the clients’ requests or requirements.
How does a Personal Chef know what I want or like in my meals or diet?
Right from the very beginning, I make YOUR taste and preferences our first priority. Before we plan any menus, I will meet with you and make a thorough survey of you and your household’s likes, wants, dislikes, preferences, and other requirements. Aside from your food choices as well as dietary requirements, I will also consider your meal schedule and eating habits so I can design a truly one-of-a-kind service plan.
How will you package my meals?
I have a range of options for packaging your meals. I offer heavy aluminum containers with sealed plastic tops inclusive of my service. You can reheat these containers either in a microwave oven or conventional oven. Clients also have the option of purchasing at their own cost Pyrex or other similar containers depending of course on their preference.
How about freezer space? How much do you need?
This would depend on the amount of meals you request, as well as the sizes of our containers. Generally though, this does not demand a very large size of freezer space. We will check your freezer to see how much room it can accommodate. One of the main reasons for choosing appropriately sized containers is efficient storage – for helping to maximize storage space.
How long will the food you prepare last us?
We can determine how long your meals will approximately last depending on how many days or evenings you eat at home, and on how many meals or entrees you order. If you spend time in restaurants (or enjoy eating out occasionally) or if you travel for business during the week, then, your meals will take longer to consume than if you are eating them every single night.
Do you have to cook or prepare the meals in my home?
Most probably, yes. Preparing the meals in your home ensures that you only get the freshest, most high-quality food as far as possible. The Health Department’s regulations require that all Personal Chef meals be prepared either in a licensed commercial kitchen or in the client’s home.
How long will you be in my house or kitchen? Am I required to be there?
Depending on your number of meals or entrees ordered, my typical service takes about 4 to 6 hours per day. (All the menu items will be prepared from scratch.) I will be happy to accommodate your schedule to the best of our ability. And you absolutely do not need to be at home during our service. In fact, most of our clients aren’t at home when we get down to cooking. We can arrive before you are scheduled to leave in the mornings or we can coordinate a key pick-up.
What if I want some additional side dishes prepared as well?
I'd be more than willing and happy to provide that extra service for you! But please, do note that it will also involve some additional fee.
Is it possible to order a custom-designed service?
My services are entirely flexible so that I can accommodate almost ANY request. I can even plan out a weekly service for you if so you realize that you have more leftovers hanging around than you actually need. And, if you find that mostly you have enough food to last the entire month, then I can also do a monthly service.
Am I locked in your service for a period of time?
The service fees or costs quoted to you are valid for a full 60 days from the date of our initial meeting, after which time, they may (or may not) be subject to change. Either of us can terminate our mutual agreement at any time as long as it is done with a one week’s notice.
Can I buy a gift certificate?
Absolutely! Our Gift Certificates are great for Anniversaries, Thank You’s, Get Well Soon occasions, for New and/or Elderly Parents, or even for Bridal or Wedding Showers!
Why does the cost seem to be about the same price as what I would pay for a meal or dinner in a restaurant?
Personal Chef service charges include: pre-assessment of your needs, tastes and preferences; expert research for specialized diets, menu planning, grocery or shopping, travel (or delivery) to your place, meal preparation, cooking, packaging and effective storage of your meals, as well as clean-ups. Having that said, the services are essentially very much different from what you would usually pay for at any restaurant. When you want to dine at a restaurant, you have to travel or commute to there, request for a table, ask for a menu, wait for your meal, cross-fingers that your special requests are granted, pay for your bill (even if you are not satisfied), tip the waiter (IF you are satisfied), and then head back home. Hiring the services of a Personal Chef, although more costly, provides more guarantees that you will be satisfied with your meals and the entire service.
By hiring the services of a Personal Chef, you can sit down and relax, and spend more quality time on the more important facets of your life. You can trust that you will have a lovely meal waiting for you at home, and that which is also especially prepared to please your palate.
You will be much less likely to give way to inferior-quality, unhealthy fast foods, as well as more less likely to purchase unnecessary food impulsively in the grocery store. Just recall all the items you bought with the best ideas or intentions only to have them thrown out in the end? Now it can be put to a stop. Contact your friendly Personal Chef now and start enjoying your meals
